Hi,

I am planning on bringing some friends for a fishing trip to the Philippines. I would to know if you can help provide a list of places that is good for this sport/leisure time.

Need to consider the availability of facilities, safety and cost and any other information that will be helpful.

Looking forward to your reply.

Hello
I am currently in Boracay until 2 week in December, we cannot fish on the island as anational park, but we are having trouble finding a guide who can take me out fihsing, I have my own gear from home, looking at fishing plastics and hard bodys More then happy to charter own boat for day or 2 and travel, just need some local knowlegde who understands what I need

Also heading to Cebu, Orman and the Bohol for a week as well, again same fishing style, so if you can suggest again would apprciate it

Yeah.. But there's some good news. Over the past month, there have been lesser and lesser instances of dynamite fishing. There is an ongoing renovation on the lighthouse and there are guards were ordered to open fire on boats doing dynamite fishing. Also, the influx of anglers frequenting the area are pretty much keeping the dynamite fishermen at bay. :)

Its sad to hear that's dynamite fishing is still rampant there but by experience if you heard one blast your day fishing is over.. kilometers away would be fruitless as fish will shy very far...

The tuna on the photo above was caught only a couple of kilometers from shore. During this time of the year, anchovies abound and pelargics go nearer to shore to feed on them. Bigger tunas can be caught around 50-100km offshore where ship marker bouys are. It about 2-3 hours bangka ride at 7-8 knots. The bouys acts as an FAD where Tunas, Dorado and other pelargics toil around.

I've seen 30kg tuna at the local market.
